Paroisse St-Luc catechism program registration

Paroisse-St-Luc is proud to present to you its new catechism program. It is now possible to start or continue learning despite Public Health restrictions on gatherings. We are proposing some online classes for our First Communion students and evening classes at the church for the Confirmation students. For levels 1,2, 4 and 5, we have included a one day Bible camp to our homeschooling classes for from October to May. Registration to our catechism program will prepare your children to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation and will also help them to get to know Jesus and to develop their spiritual life.

Baptism

Baptism 0-5 years

For Christians it is God who gives life. From the beginning of our life in our mother’s womb, we are like all human beings, children of God. In the Catholic church, baptism is a moment to be in God’s presence. This is where God asks us if we want to become his beloved daughter or beloved son, and to recognise him as our Father. We can be baptized at all ages

Baptism 6-16 years (B.S.A.C)

Would your child who is between the ages of 6 and 16 years old like to be baptized? The baptism process for school-age children is designed to guide them and their family across a series of steps that reveal God’s infinite love to them through the teachings of Jesus. Your child will be welcomed according to his age and his level of comprehension.

Baptism 17-99 years (Catechumenate)

Would you like to be baptized in the Roman Catholic faith? St-Luc Parish offers baptism preparation that lets adults become Christians, in order to live in service to God in accordance with the teachings of Jesus.

Confirmation

Once children have received their First Communion, and completed Levels 4 and 5 of our Be my Disciples program (previously called Faith First), they are ready for their Confirmation Preparation classes in Level 6. It is through confirmation that we receive the Holy Spirit, as we confirm our desire to be Catholic and our commitment to live as a Christian with faith, love and service to one another.

Marriage

Marriage

Matrimony is another term for marriage, but it is not simply a synonym. As Fr. John Hardon notes in his Modern Catholic Dictionary, matrimony “refers more to the relationship between husband and wife than to the ceremony or the state of marriage.” That is why, strictly speaking, the Sacrament of Marriage is the Sacrament of Matrimony.
