SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR CONFIRMATION CLASSES 2025-2026
Prerequisites : Children registering for this class must be in Grade 5 or 6, and must have completed Levels 1 through 5 of the Be My Disciples Religious Education Program, as well as received their First Communion.
The sacramental preparation course for the Confirmation consists of :
● Student sessions: There are 10 classes for your child from October to June inclusively, held at the rectory upstairs at Sainte-Françoise Cabrini Church in Rosemère. Your child is expected to attend all classes. Each student will receive a workbook and is expected to have a
Bible at their disposal. In addition, students will use the online Be My Disciples ebook as asupport tool throughout the year. After each session, youth will attend Mass with their families, and their participatory faith booklet will be stamped as a sign of presence.
● Parent sessions: One parent is expected to attend the welcome meeting on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Sainte-Françoise Cabrini Church, as well as the 3 parent meetings and the White Mass in February 2026 (exact date to be confirmed). All gatherings will take place on
Saturday mornings. (see the attached schedule for details)
● Church attendance: Children enrolled in this program are expected to attend 10 Masses during the year with their families. Their booklet will be stamped after each Mass as a sign of participation.
● Attendance is mandatory under normal circumstances.
● Reconciliation (see schedule attached)
● The Confirmation celebration :will take place in June 2026 at St-Maurice Church (388, boul. Adolphe-Chapleau, Bois-des-Filion). The ceremony will be presided by the Bishop (date to be announced).
